Thomas
Dear Pet Haven folks --
You might remember Thomas, the Cairn Terrier I adopted from you three years ago. He was a home surrender, nine months old, not yet housetrained. I started taking him to obedience classes right away with the West Los Angeles Dog Obedience Club, and he took to it all so well that I started competing in AKC events with him. He now has three titles, and he also does agility.
A little over two weeks ago, a professional photographer took of Thomas in the South Bay All-Breed Dog Show and Obedience Trial. They are here:

Starting at the end of the top row, he is 1) executing his drop on recall; 2) heading out to retrieve his dumbbell; 3) returning with his dumbbell; 4) ditto; 5) clearing the 20" broad jump; and 6) holding his 3-minute long sit stay.
He didn't get a qualifying score that day because there was a point at which he decided that catching dragonflies was more important than coming back over the high jump with his dumbbell on the second retrieve. (And who could blame him?) But I think he looks pretty damn fabulous. And happy.
We are now competing in Open obedience, pursuing his Companion Dog Excellent title. He is awesome. He is also a fabulous little trail dog, an ocean swimmer (he has a life vest!) and the best little heating pad on a cold night in a tent a human could ever want. My husband tucks him inside his sleeping bag like a hot-water bottle, and both dog and man are happy.
Thank you for rescuing him so I could adopt him. I feel very lucky to have him in my life.
All best,
Judith
Snickers
Reese and Snickers did so good their first night home. After a wonderful evening of family bonding, they slept all night and were up and going by 6am! They are both so adorable and so affectionate. They are already starting to get pretty spoiled!

Lady-pommie
Thanks for the call today. Lady seems to be adjusting well. She had a fun day with the girls. We spent the morning at my mom and dad's house. Most of the time was passed running with Lady all around the backyard.
Hope your puppy adoptions went well today...you are an angel to care so lovingly for the animals that cross your path. The animals and the people in their lives and all benefit from your generosity!

Daisy- lab
hope you remember me, it's Yvette Walker from Rancho Cucamonga. The one who kept calling you and asking you millions of questions about shots and all that good stuff. I'm sending you a couple pictures from when we first got Lizzy and one today on her birthday - Cinco De Mayo!
I can't believe it's been almost 2 years since we adopted Lizzy, formerly known as Daphney. We just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such a sweet little girl. She is the apple of our eye and spoiled rotten. I meant to do this last year and never did, so I apologize.
Lizzy sleeps every night on someones bed, although she has her own. She loves going to the pooch park frequently, and unfortunately she's not a very good "walker" she loves to just take off. She's not too crazy about water, so we bought her a ten dollar pool at walmart and that works. We will be working on her pool skills this summer at my mother inlaws. She plays frequently with "Yukon". It's our neighbors chocolate lab. The neighbor had a doogie door installed in our connecting fence, because they play so frequently in the back yard. She frequently passes gas in the morning and snores when she's in a deep sleep. She loves chasing birds, and adores little kids. She knows the word "cookie and friends" quite well too. We are truly blessed to have her in our life. We just love her to pieces.
We wish you the best in your true devotion to making sure animals get placed in a loving home. The world needs more people like you.
God Bless you Cindy, and all of your staff. Please keep up the GREAT work!
Sincerely,
Yvette, Darrin, Tasha, Matthew, and of course Lizzy too ;)
